Access to Bur Dubai and Deira is usually by taxi or airport shttle bus.

Dubai Airport is a local hub for connecting flights to other Middle Eastern countries as well as Asia and Europe.

The airport itself seems to be undergoing constant expansion and construction work is often going on, it also has a huge duty free shopping area where you can buy almost anything you could possible imagine.
